Spicy crab chutney(kakra Bata)
This is the most unique recipe, that I going to share with you. This recipe is very spicy but you can control the spiciness as per your taste. But everyone preferred this chutney slightly spicier. It is traditional Bengali chutney and this is eaten with steam rice. Some people smoke the crab first in the charcoal fire with some drop of mustard oil and some salt. And then make chutney in pastel and motor(sil-nora). But today I make this chutney with crispy fried(not deep fried) crab. Ingredients for making the chutney(2 people)
Crab – 1 medium or large piece
Red chili – 3 to 4 pieces
Onion – 1/2 of a medium sized chopped
Garlic – 1 clove
Grated Coconut – 2 tbsp
Mustard oil – 2 tbsp
Salt – as per your taste.
Method of making crab chutney
1. Break the claws and Clean it well. Shake the pieces well to drain out excess water.
2. Mix some salt with crab and shallow fry it in 1 tbsp of mustard oil on a pan in medium flame, make sure the crab pieces are crisp and slightly brown.
3. Place the fried crab, grated coconut, chopped onion, garlic, salt and some mustard oil on mixer or pastel-and-motor and grind it till it becomes a fine paste. Check for seasoning and serve with steam rice.
